A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Rating score: 10/10

Summary- When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin-one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.

SPOILERS THROUGHOUT THE REVIEW! IF you haven't read it and plan too, then DO NOT READ! normally I don't have it like this, but I just had to say it...so enter if you dare!

Review-

Oh. My. GOD.
This book was breathtaking, beautiful, amazing, stunning, every single other word in the world that means amazing. I loved every single page of this book! I was not expecting ANYTHING that had happened, from the first page to the very last had me in awe.

I loved how it was a fairytale re-telling of Beauty and the Beast but it was completely different in a thousand different ways, but also very similar. In the Disney film, Beauty and the Beast, Belle could read and she loved books. But in this (spoiler-- Feyre, did not love reading BECAUSE she couldn't read). I thought that was really amazing how Sarah did that with this character and that Feyre hunted and protected her two sisters and father.

Characters: If you did not like Lucien then I'm sorry but your crazy, Lucien was by far the most wittiest character. Tamlin on the other hand was the most . . . Beastly? (haha get it? Beauty and the BEAST? haha no? okay). Feyre was obviously my favorite character, from her stubbornness to lack of some abilities. But my favorite thing about Tamlin, Lucien, and the other Fae was the masks. I loved the masks, I loved how everyone had a mask and it pretty much resembled who they are.
Lucien wasn't my favorite in the beginning, but he grows on you. And so does another special someone *smirks*
Rhysand, at first you hate him. You think he is such a horrible person. But really, he's not! I mean, in a way sure he is. But, he turns out to be such a lovable character! Not as lovable as Tamlin and Feyre, but pretty darn close. And if I wasn't team Tamlin I'd be team Rhysand all the way. Tamlin is there though! so I am Team Tamlin!
Even though, Lucien and Rhysand come to a pretty close tie. Yep, really close.

Yup. the feels here.

Setting: The forest! so creepy! but my favorite PLACE in the whole entire beautiful world, like it or not, was Amarantha place. I know I'm horrible! That place so freakin' creepy! but It was also really cool, and I wanted to live in it . . . but I would rather like in Tamlin's manor because, come one...it's GORGEOUS!

But next to hers, I would choose Tamlin's super cool estate (yes, I stole the word. But it also makes me sound like I know fancy words!)
But I loved the flowers, and the rooms, the painting room! oh, how I want to see that! and the library! if it's as good as Beauty and The Beasts! *Insert fangirl here*
The library even though, there were a few technical difficulties with Feyre in the library. It was a wonderful place! hehe.
But back to the fae lady's place (don't hate me!). I loved her 'place' because it was dark and creepy and I just really got into the groove there HAHA! I picked it up, and I was reading and she got there and it was dark and cave-y and it all just seemed so MAGICALLY amazing . . . besides that part with the one thing in the throne room.

(note: I will no longer be doing the 'plot' section, because I suck at that part).

I do want to say this, this novel was nothing that I expected! it was way better! and the SHIPS!
AM I RIGHT?!?!?!

Back to Lucien!
Because that topic will never get old *winks*
Lucien . . . has a sad but awesome backstory, I mean not really awesome but more like, What makes Lucien--Lucien. I liked Lucien since the first page I met him! I was skeptical at first, very very skeptical. But Lucien grew on me! he is my second favorite male character! but Lucien and Rhysand tie in second place.

Can someone please get me a Lucien for christmas? or Rhysand? or better! BOTH!
Some of you may be thinking "what about Tamlin?"
Tamlin is my first favorite male character, not only because he's Tamlin and is so AWESOME! but because to me, Tamlin changed the most in the story!
He went from being a lonely person who needed to find a human woman who "hated the fae" and make her fall for him, (which wasn't hard) and he for her. And that is really hard, I understand he would have most likely fake fallen in love to save his people, but he didn't. Man, Feyre tripped him, he fell hard.
He could have saved his people if he didn't make Feyre go back home! but he sent her home because he LOVES her so much! And he would have suffered the rest of his immortal life with that evil, wicked monster Amarantha, to know that Feyre is safe with her family.

Amarantha was the worst character! . . . okay I take that back, I despised Lucien's brothers more...
Put them in the giant maze with the people eating worm!

But I adore every character! Each character developed a lot during the story, and I know that during the next novel that they will most likely develop even more. And I am secretly dying to get my hands on the second books! I would put the title, but I completely forgotten the name *looks away in shame*

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves/loved Beauty and the beast and likes New Adult novels. I myself never read New Adult, but If they were all like ACOTAR then I'd read them because this book was Astonishing, and so beautifully written, like Throne Of Glass was! even though I still have yet to read Crown of Midnight...OOPS.

Overall, if you get his book be ready for a lot of FEELS!
that's all. Just . . . be ready

HAPPY READING, LUVs
