Review-

to be honest, I would never have even heard of this book if it wasn't for my friend Jade. But the author also followed me so, pretty cool. (I hate saying stuff like that, because I hate feeling like I'm bragging because really I'm not. I'd be just as happy for you if an author I loved dearly followed any of you! so please don't think I'm bragging)
Back to the review, I only gave it 8/10 because some things didn't sound right to me, but it was still a good read! it was mostly action. I mean, seriously only a few scenes didn't have action. And the idea of this book was amazing! I loved the characters and the idea, and a certain someone *winks*

Characters: I loved Eliza, she was weird and she wanted to just know what was going on. So she did things that went against what she was supposed to do, she forced answers. I just really liked this character, she was shy in a way and she just wanted to stay out of the crowd.
then there is Eric and in the beginning it's like Eric Eric Eric <3
and then in the end, I was rooting for someone totally different. I mean, Eric or mystery guy? it's simple. Mystery guy.
then there is Jared and the turn of events when you find out he's something. But I also love Jared because he's an adorable kitty cat.
then Dawn, she is like a perfect best friend . . . for a witch. Eliza would go crazy without her best friend. In my opinion. Dawn is one of the main characters in this book, I would have liked to see more of her. But she was always being dragged off somewhere or busy doing something. So she was in it, but wasn't in it much. So, it would have been nice to see more of Dawn.
there are so many more characters I want to get into, but I won't because there are too many that I'd be able to write a hundred pages on them all. So let's just end this with. THE CHARACTERS ARE AWESOME, some were jerks, some were cool, some were swoon worthy, others weren't.
Also, I 100% ship Eliza and mystery man. I know his name, but you all don't and I don't want to spoil anything but if you want to know his name highlight the next word, Donovan <3.

Setting: the setting was pretty normal all around, I mean, there were a few awesome settings like the witchers place (where you'll most likely find me *smirk*). But other than the witchers place and that creepy bookshelf *shudders* then it was all contemporary. But amazing all the same. And The rave *SCREAMS*.
I want to go to a rave, but I'd be totally nervous and shy and just stand in the corner . . . yeah. I'll have to go with all my internet friends so I don't seem so--weird? aha, I don't know.

Plot: So the main thing for the plot was when she found out Jared was her brother, he mom got sucked into the portal, when they went to the auction-ey thing. (sorry don't know what it's called). And then the ending, when it was pretty much a cliff-hanger. But since the whole novel was all ACTION, there was never really a fall for the plot. The whole plot just going up, and up and up, never once (at least to me) did it seem boring.

Overall, this novel is a good read, I would definitely recommend this book to a lot of my friends because it is so cool, and action packed, and there's that one swoon worthy character (Donovan).
But it got 8/10 because, there were a few parts I didn't particularly like, for example {spoiler Alert-- when she tells Donovan her name is Rose because she doesn't want him knowing her first name, but then someone calls her Eliza and he doesn't even seem fazed by it. He could know what her name is and just be calling her rose, I don't know. But for some reason that little part bothered me, it shouldn't it is such a small thing, but it did. And also, the fact that someone died . . . and it was sad! I barely knew the character too!

You should all read this, it is officially out today. So, go get it! enjoy it! and review it!
