Summary- When Nicole Cassidy moves from sunny Georgia to gloomy New England, the last thing she expects is to learn that her homeroom is a cover for a secret coven of witches. Even more surprisingly . . . she's apparently a witch herself. Despite doubts about her newfound abilities, Nicole is welcomed into this ancient circle of witches and is bedazzled by their powers--and, to her dismay, by Blake--the school's notorious bad-boy.

Girls who get close to Blake wind up hurt. His girlfriend Danielle will do anything to keep them away, even if she must retort to using dark magic. But the chemistry between Blake and Nicole is undeniable, and despite wanting to protect Nicole from Danielle's wrath, he finds it impossible to keep his distance.

When the Olympian Comet shoots through teh sky for the first time in three thousand years, Nicole, Blake, Danielle, and two others in their homeroom are gifted with mysterious powers... more.

Review-

When I first started this book, I'll be honest I didn't read the description and I am happy I didn't because I liked the surprises . . . like her being a witch. I ACTUALLY thought (for some reason) this was a contemporary novel, no fantasy or magic happening. But I was happy when there was!
I love the whole idea of this book, it's kind of like Percy Jackson (I haven't read them, but I have watched the movies . . . so, yeah) but with a huge twist because they are witches and they control energy.
It was well paced and I was never confused by anything that had happened, Michelle Madow did a fantastic job at keeping everything interesting and where all the information being thrown at you wasn't all at once. You had time to process it before more information was thrown your way!

But let's get to the characters because that's what I'm excited to talk about!

Characters: First off, let's mention the most Swoon worthy character . . . BLAKE!
As I would say his last name, but I completely forgot it! How do you expect me to remember his last name when all I was thinking about was his face?
Now, I have two guys that are swoon worthy and have Fire Abilities, obviously Blake and then Aldrik from the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova.
Can we just take a moment to swoon?
*swoon moment*
Okay, so I was swooning over Blake the second the novel mentioned him. He was the mysterious boy who is awesome and perfect! I don't know what else to say! I mean, perfect pretty much sums it up XD. I mean, there is the downfall of Blake . . . his girlfriend

Danielle is a jerk. She would injure anyone who 'looks' like they are flirting with Blake, This girl is OVER PROTECTIVE! And cruel! Maybe if she was nicer I would feel a tad bit sad for her during the novel . . . but I didn't. And even though Danielle is a jerk, she seems like she'd be an awesome friend! she just needs to be less, Evil Danielle and more Nice Danielle :)
Then, we come to Nicole. Nicole went through a lot throughout the novel. And she also went through some major character development. If her (before book) character met her after everything, she would think she was completely different! and she is, but in a good way!
Nicole became such a strong character, with her magical abilities! <3

Setting: Okay, so where was this placed in? Massachusetts? Yeah. Anyways! my favorite place in this entire book was . . . the black hole.
I will be explaining why so if you don't want to know . . . then I suggest you not reading the highlighted section!
If you are reading this highlighted section, then you probably know what happens in the book, for you most like have read the book! BUT it was the black hole not because it was a creepy black hole or mysterious, but Because what had HAPPENED in that hole. When Blake turned the fire off and kissed Nicole . . . I'm being honest! I totally was thinking it before it had happened! And I was fangirling so hard when he did it <3

Overall, this book was fantastic! I loved it so much! And I am so excited for book two! If you DON'T have this novel on your TBR, then put it on right now! because it is a MUST read! I recommend this to all of you!

Enjoy this novel!
It was such an incredible novel <3
