New Year, New Books, Author Interviews #12

Hello Luvs!
Just one more interview to go! This month has gone by so quickly! <3
But today I am interviewing a wonderful author!
Her debut novel just recently came out "A Raven's Touch"
I am currently reading this novel but am so busy lately I haven't had time for much reading! But it will change soon, I promise!

also, today is the LAST interview for authors!
on the 31st is the last interview for this event but it is a blogger being interviewed so today is the last of the authors! I am so happy because I've done so much! I hope I can do this again! maybe something a little . . . bigger? *smirks*

And the author being interviewed today is!

LINDA BLOODWORTH

Thank you for letting me interview you! And I hope you all enjoy this interview! I had a wonderful time asking authors questions!

Question 1- What is your new years resolution?
Linda- I don't have one. I've never understood the point of making a promise at the beginning of the year. If I want to change something about myself I do so immediately.

Question 2- Are you working on anything new for January?
Linda- Since I released my debut novel, A Raven's Touch, I'm currently working on the sequel. I don't have a name for it yet, but it's going to be a mixture of YA/Horror/Paranormal.

Question 3- What inspires you most when you write?
Linda- I can't really point to on specific thing. I get inspired by many every day occurrences. Perhaps walking down the street I hear a bit of someone's conversation, or a friend says something to me a certain way, maybe I hear a song, it's just endless really. While I'm physically writing I really enjoy a certain song list that gets me prepared for scenes. The song "Possum Kingdom" by the Toadies really fueled me while writing A Raven's Touch

Question 4- What was the hardest thing about writing your latest book?
Linda- Sometimes listening to the Beta readers was rather tough. Some of them said things that made me re-write large portions. Not just once, or twice, but three times. I honestly thought I was going to have some kind of minor breakdown at one point.

Question 5- What's you favorite quote?
Linda-
My favorite book quote is "Curiouser and curiouser!"
-Lewis Carrol, Alice In Wonderland

My favorite inspirational quote is from Steve Martin, "Be so good they can't ignore you." It really speaks to me on a personal level. I want my work to come to light because the people decided it was good, not because a million dollar publishing house told them what to like.

Question 6- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Linda- Writing even more.

Question 7- Where are you from?
Linda- I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Question 8- If you could work with ANY author this year, who would you want it to be?
Linda- Stephen King. He is one of my idols and his work gives me goosebumps.

Question 9- What are a few books you want to read this year (2016) or What genre do you like to read most?
(Author can choose either question -- freebie)
Linda- Mainly, I do read paranormal fiction, but I tend to stray to horror and the bizarre. I'm going to definitely pick up some Haruki Murakami, the man is just out there and I really enjoy that. I've read all of Philip K. Dick, of whom I also love.

Question 10- Whats ONE thing you're really looking forward to?
Linda- I look forward to being a full time writer one day.

Wonderful answers!
I hope you all enjoyed the LAST 'author' interview, be sure to come back on the 31st for another Blogger interview!

New Year, New Books, Author Interviews #11

Hello Luvs!

Today I am interviewing another blogger!
How exciting?
I had so much fun asking my blogging friends these questions and I HOPE they liked answering them! but before I start talking about something completely off topic let's get to the interview!

The Blogger I am interviewing today is,

SABRINA (LIBRARY LUV)

Thank you for letting me interview you Travel Buddy! <3

Question 1- What is your new year’s resolution?
Sabrina- I had a very long time to think about this, and I think I have come to a conclusion that I have two; one for my blog and one for my personal reading. My new year’s resolution for my blog would be to actively try to post more than just twice a week. I think it’s good to be consistent and by posting more maybe I will get more views and followers. My new year’s resolution for reading would have to be getting all my review books read. I have quite a pile and there’s always more being added.

Question 2- What is your TBR for January?
Sabrina-
Elementals by Michelle Madow
Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake
Drown by Esther Dalseno
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Siege and Strom by Leigh Bardugo
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Question 3- What inspires you most when you write a blog post?
Sabrina- MUSIC. I always need background noise as I am writing a new blog post or formulating

Question 4- What was the hardest thing about writing you latest blog post?
Sabrina- The last post I wrote was a review for a book. I believe the hardest thing was translating all my emotions and thoughts into coherent sentences. Also making sure I didn’t leave any of my comments out.

Question 5- What's your favorite quote?
Sabrina- I am going to go with one of my all-time favourite quotes that I have loved for a long time. I believe it speaks the truth in so many ways you look at it.
“Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read.
One does not love breathing.” ~Harper Lee

Question 6- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Sabrina- This question for me is probably one of the toughest ones I have had to answer. I know that I have ideas as to what I would still like to be doing in 5 years, but I have no exact clue with where I would exactly see myself. I hope to still be blogging and actively writing reviews. I also hope to have some clue or idea as to what I would like as a permanent career. Maybe something to do with books? That would be awesome. I also hope to have met some of book blogging friends in person. SO that will have to be my answer, since I am still not totally sure of myself quite yet.

Question 7- Where are you from?
Sabrina- I am from Canada, always have been. However I do hope to travel around the world someday to come.

Question 8- If you could interview ANY author this year, who would you want it to be?
Sabrina- Hmmm, I honestly don’t really know. I believe it is quite the privilege to interview any author, and I have done a handful of interviews already, but I guess if I had to choose one author it would either be Leigh Bardugo- author of the Grisha trilogy & Six of Crows OR Cassandra Clare- Author of The Mortal Instruments & The Infernal Devices.

Question 9- What genre do you like to read most?
Sabrina- I would say that I am a pretty rounded reader and I do enjoy many genres, but I would have to say that my favourite would be YA high fantasy, or YA paranormal.

Question 10- What’s ONE thing you’re really looking forward to?
Sabrina- Getting my review book pile down to 0, finishing my finals in a couple of weeks and being stress free, and lastly getting a chance to read all the new releases this year that interest me. I know that was more than one, but what can I say, there is a lot to look forward too.

Great TBR! I want to read a lot of those novels!
P.S. hope you like(d) Drown! ;)

Even more surprisingly … she’s apparently a witch herself. Despite doubts about her newfound abilities, Nicole is welcomed into this ancient circle of witches and is bedazzled by their powers—and, to her dismay, by Blake—the school’s notorious bad-boy.

Girls who get close to Blake wind up hurt. His girlfriend Danielle will do anything to keep them away, even if she must resort to using dark magic. But the chemistry between Blake and Nicole is undeniable, and despite wanting to protect Nicole from Danielle’s wrath, he finds it impossible to keep his distance.

When the Olympian Comet shoots through the sky for the first time in three thousand years, Nicole, Blake, Danielle, and two others in their homeroom are gifted with mysterious powers. But the comet has another effect—it opens the portal to the prison world that has contained the Titans for centuries. After an ancient monster escapes and attacks Nicole and Blake, it’s up to them and the others to follow the clues from a cryptic prophecy so that they can save their town … and possibly the world.

Interview with Michelle Madow

Question 1- What inspires you most when you write?
Michelle- For me, it’s always been the readers who inspire me to write. I have all these stories inside my mind, and I write them down so that others are able to experience them—and hopefully enjoy them—too. So, thank you to my readers for being so supportive and inspiring!

Question 2- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Michelle- Professionally, I hope that I’ve written and released a few more of my series. I hope to release four books this year. So in five years, I hope that I’ve released at least 15 more books.
Personally—I have absolutely no idea. You never know when a person is going to come into your life and change everything, and I always try to keep myself open to those changes. Most importantly, I want my personal life to continue to be conducive to completing my professional goals. Everything else is just an added bonus!

Question 3- If you could work with ANY author who would you want to work with?
Michelle- That’s such a hard question because there are so many amazing authors out there! If I was picking an author I’d never met before, then probably James Patterson. I like how he credits all the authors he works with, and since he’s one of the best selling authors of all time, I would love to be able to learn from him. If I were choosing from authors I already know, then definitely Elise Kova! She’s one of my best friends—we get along so well, and she’s really encouraged me to push myself harder than I already did. Plus, I love outlining and editing, and she loves drafting, so I think we would make a great team.

Question 4- What's your favorite quote?
Michelle- I love quotes, and I collect them. Here are three of my favorites:

“The greatest gift is a passion for reading. It consoles, it distracts, it excites, it gives you knowledge of the world, and experience of a wide kind. It is a moral illumination.”

“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”
-Albert Einstein

"If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything."
-Doc Brown

I love all your answers! And I would love to see you and Elise Kova write a book together!
I would be the happiest person on this planet!
We need to make this happen! <3

New Year, New Books, Author's Interviews #10

Hello, Luv's!
Today is the 10th interview!
I am so happy I've gotten this far without passing out of exhaustion but also so sad that it's almost over!
After today's interview there are only 3 left!
I guess I'll just have to make another interview event sometime this year! maybe in a couple months? or maybe at the end of the year! I just hope you all have enjoyed the interviews!

Anyways! The author who I am interviewing today is,

Allison Whitmore

Thank you for letting me interview you, Allison!
and if any of you want to follow her, or buy her novel " ", at the bottom will be links to her site, and twitter!

and before I bore you all to death with my giddiness, let's get to the interview!

○○○○○○

Question 1- What is your New Years resolution?
Allison- I resolve to get my next book done, to get healthier, and to keep moving forward, so I can inspire (and entertain) others in a big way.

Question 2-Are you working on anything new for January?
Allison- Yes. I am starting the sequel to The Lost Heir. It’s called The Foxworthy Murders. My co-authors and I decided the entire series will be called, The Diadem Chronicles.

Question 3- What inspires you most when you write?
Allison- The characters inspire me…when they get going and a scene is just really fun, true to life, angsty or just plain hilarious.

Question 4- What was the hardest thing about writing you latest book?
Allison- The nature of my co-written work, as my latest book, The Lost Heir, was done with help of two other writers, requires me to do a lot of revising of not just my own words but theirs, too. We really wanted to keep a consistent voice for the audience. Since I am the primary author, it’s up to me to make sure that happens. It proved to be a challenge sometimes, attempting to keep their vision for a scene without just rewriting the entire thing or taking it in a direction I preferred. I did my best. They brought a lot of good visuals to the table and action sequences I may not have thought of. Overall, my goal beyond the voice was to keep the world intact and the plot logical. I think in the end it worked out, and it was great to have them on board. For this next book, I know what I am doing, so I think it will be a lot smoother, faster and more fun.

Question 5- What's your favorite quote?

Allison- “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we may die.” – I look at this quote differently today than I used to. It once meant to me have fun, go out and party. But today, it means much more. It tells me to live my dream and not hesitate. I always hope that others will find it in themselves to do the same.

Question 6- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Allison- Still writing.

Question 7- Where are you from?

Allison- Los Angeles

Question 8- If you could work with ANY author this year, who would you want it to be?
Allison- My co-authors. We have work to do!

Question 9- What are a few books you want to read this year (2016) or What genre do you like to read most?
(Author can choose either question--freebie)
Allison- I’d like to read the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard and then after that, let the books come as they will. I’m also looking forward to AG Howard’s new series based on The Phantom of the Opera. I’m not sure if it will be out in 2016 though. I need to keep better tabs.

Question 10- What’s ONE thing you’re really looking forward to?
Allison- The next episode of Arrow. Haha. Seriously, taking a month off to travel and having the means to do it right.

○○○○○○

your last answer made me love you even more!
I LOVE THE ARROW!!!!!!!
So happy it's back on!
And I loved the quote, I also love how you had to different perspectives of it. From before and after!
I'd choose to party though . . . and by party I mean read books *wink wink*
