I loved it, but there were a few things that just made me want to throw the book down. 

What I loved about this novel was of course the characters. I loved the idea of the whole story, in Paris where everything is different and kind of corrupted in a way. I love how there's a lower and upper city. 

Sophia Bellamy-  I loved her attitude and how she could use a sword. Pretty much everything about her, really. She loved her family and would do anything to protect them/save them. 

Rene Hasard- Once again, that attitude...Rene was mysterious almost the entire time. You never really knew if he was good, bad, actually in love with Sophia. But he could be so many different Rene's the one he was with Sophia, the one he was at the ball type of thing (Forgot what it was called, oops), and also the one he was with his family. 

Her brother Tomas was not a huge character in this, but neither was Spear which I am still mad about. Spear really didn't need to be in the story at all, or could have ended a lot differently. I hated how obsessed he was, and out of everyone you would think the person that grew up with her would understand her more than the man who barely knows her. But yes, I hated how Spear was so obsessed with Sophia, and how it all ended with Spear. It could have ended a lot differently and I would have definetley given it a 10/10 instead of 9/10. 

And Leblanc scared me. He was creepy, and just one of those guys you wanna punch and let die in a hole...he was mean, and rude. I just didn't like him, at all. 

The Setting- I loved the whole Paris idea. It was really different from the things I have read. I might have read something that was in Paris but I don't remember. But anyways, I loved the Paris landscape. I really love the cover the cover is how I pretty much imagined everything, broken, messy. But it also gives it that beautiful look. 

Plot- I get the plot, Sophia wants to get everyone out of the prison. I get it. I love the idea because their Innocent, and Leblanc is a jerk who locks innocent people up for doing nothing. I love the whole idea of this story, and how it ends even though I wish just a few things were different (AKA, Spear). But other than Spear it was amazing. 

I cannot wait to read more of Sharon Cameron, it was an amazing novel. The cover is Gorgeous. The characters are awesome. The writing was amazing, I love how she made it all seem so . . . (I don't know the a word to describe it!!!!) It was just simply amazing. Besides one small part that made me lower the rating. But other than that I loved it. And I loved the red-tipped feather being left behind when a prisoner(s) escaped. 

This was a really good book. And I hope that you read this novel and enjoy it as much as I did or more!
